The BCAC Members’ Art Prize (MAP) is an annual art prize open to members of the Bellingen Community Arts Council. It has a generous prize pool donated from supportive local businesses and friends of the Nexus Gallery.

 

2018 Members’ Art Prize

BCAC  Members’Art Prize  annual exhibition was held at the Nexus Community Gallery opening  on Sunday June 24 until Friday July 20 2018

The 73 entries across four categories were judged by Shellie Kelly and Trevor Weeks.

The Affirmation Grand Prize of $2000 was won by Sally Hook with her sculpture “Azel”

Painting   $500 from the BCAC “The Abiding Troth” by Gregory Coates

 Works on Paper $500 from the BCAC “Green Sea” by Bronwyn Rodden

Photographic and Digital $500 from the BCAC “Late for the Manly Ferry” by John Bennett

3D $500 from the BCAC “Ships of the Way- The Way Windward by Sue Gorrell

Highly commended

“Time Passes- the Pinboards Memory” by Philip Senior

The People’s Choice Prize $500 from the Woodcraft Gallery and the BCAC was announced on 22 July and won by Shea with “A Gentle Breeze Ruffles the Water of the Wetland
